Equity

Equities - Part 3 (2018)

Overview

This eCourse describes how equity trading in Europe has been forever changed by the huge growth in automated and high frequency trading and the emergence of alternative trading venues such as dark pools, multilateral trading facilities (MTFs), and crossing networks. The implementation of MiFID, a key factor in this change, is discussed along with the proposals to amend MiFID. The course also describes the major stock markets in Europe, including pan-European trading venues and local/regional exchanges that operate in specific markets.

Objective

On completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain how European equity markets have evolved in terms of both the variety of execution venues and the method in which equities can be accessed and traded
