Overview

This eCourse consists of two modules. Module 1 is a video that provides a high level overview of the concept of risk, looking at how to define it to accurately in the context of banking, the distinction between risk and uncertainty, and the importance of examining all possible outcomes and the probabilities associated with them.

Module 2 provides a high-level overview of risk management practices in banking today.

Objective

On completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Define some key risk concepts and the major risk types
- Identify the types of activity that give rise to risk in banking and the factors that influence risk exposure and risk profiles
- Recognize the main criteria for successful risk management and distinguish between top-down and bottom-up risk management
