Overview
This eCourse consists of two modules. Module 1 looks at the background to the European Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR) legislation and its key components, namely standardization, authorization, standardized settlement, dematerialization, and settlement discipline. CSDR is one of the key regulations adopted in the EU in the aftermath of the financial crisis. It introduces new measures for the authorisation and supervision of CSDs and creates a common set of prudential, organizational, and conduct of business standards at a European level.
Module 2 provides a high-level overview of packaged retail and insurance-based investment products (PRIIPs) regulations and explains the components and purpose of the key information document (KID). PRIIPs regulations were published by European authorities on KIDs for PRIIPs to support retail investors’ decision making.
