Overview
This eCourse consists of two modules. Module 1 provides a high-level overview of the Canadian bond market, which is one of the ten largest bond markets in the world. It serves as an important source of capital for Canada’s federal, provincial, and municipal governments, and for Canadian corporations. This module also highlights key issuers, key types of securities, and key regulatory institutions.
Module 2 looks at the Japanese bond markets, one of the biggest in the world. The first section explains the composition of the market and how it is dominated by the government sector, while the second section provides an overview of the different regulators that are relevant for the bond market.
